# Import OpenCode sessions

If you used OpenCode in a project folder before Admiral, those sessions are still there. Admiral offers them for import, per project.

## What import does

- Admiral lists the OpenCode sessions that belong to the project folder and are not in Admiral yet. The sidebar shows a count per project.
- You pick the sessions you want.
- Import copies each transcript to your machine: the newest 200 messages, with text, tool use, and attachment records.

Import copies. It does not move or change anything in OpenCode.

## Import steps

1. Open the project, or create one on the folder that holds your OpenCode work.
2. Right-click the project and choose **Project settings**, or run **Import sessions** from the command palette.
3. Open **Import sessions**. It lists the sessions of each agent that can list them, OpenCode and Claude Code, grouped by agent, newest first.
4. Choose **Import** on a session, **Import all** for one agent, or **Import all** at the top.

A session that is already in Admiral is not added twice. A session changed in the last minute may still be open in a terminal; continuing it in Admiral makes a fork.

## Continue an imported session

After import, the session keeps its link to the original OpenCode session. Send a prompt, and Admiral resumes that same OpenCode session where it left off. Your agent sees the prior context, because the context lives in OpenCode on the host device.

## Deleting an imported session

When you delete a session in Admiral, Admiral deletes it in OpenCode too, by default. If you want to keep the OpenCode original, remove the session from Admiral by archiving it instead.
