Session states
Every session shows its state as a color. The same four colors mean the same four things on every screen, in the sidebar and in the session view. Admiral calls this set of colors the jersey code, after the shirts a flight deck crew wears.
The four colors
| Color | State | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Amber | Needs you | The agent asked a question or waits on you. Answer in the composer. |
| Blue | Running | The agent is working. Read the transcript, or queue more instructions. |
| Green | Done | The turn finished. Review the changes. |
| Red | Failed | The run hit an error. Read the end of the transcript. |
An idle session shows no color.
Reading a state quickly
Sort your attention by color:
- Red first. A failed run holds nothing; read what happened.
- Amber second. An agent is parked while it waits for you.
- Blue last. Blue means no action is needed; the work is moving.
Other labels you will see
- Hull number. A short index like
07beside a session name. It identifies the session; it does not count or rank anything. - Message labels. When Admiral itself tells you something, the message carries a severity label: FATAL ERROR, ERROR, WARNING, CAUTION, or NOTE. ERROR means something failed and tells you what to do next. NOTE is information only.
Next steps
- Steer and queue: answer an amber session.
- Review changes: what to do at green.
