Attachments and output files
Two file flows matter in daily work: files you give to an agent, and files the agent gives you.
Attach images to a prompt
Attach an image in any of three ways:
- Paste an image into the composer.
- Drag an image file onto the composer.
- Pick a file with the attachment control.
Attached images travel to the host device, and the agent receives them with your prompt. You can stash an attachment to reuse it in a later prompt in the same session. Select a thumbnail in the transcript to open the full image in a lightbox.
Open files the agent made
Agents produce files: code, documents, spreadsheets, images, HTML previews. Open them from file links in replies, from tool rows in the transcript, and from the file tree.
Actions available on an output file:
- Open in default app.
- Show in folder.
- Open in browser. For HTML and PDF files, on macOS. The page opens in a sandboxed browser tab.
- Copy path.
Spreadsheets and data files
Excel workbooks and CSV or TSV files open as a read-only table inside Admiral:
- Sheet tabs across the top, column letters on the pinned header row.
- The table shows up to 5,000 rows and 200 columns; a banner says when a file is truncated, and the owning device parses the full file.
- Use Open in default app for the real spreadsheet app.
Remote files
Sessions hosted on another device still show their files. When you open a remote file, Admiral copies it to a local cache so it opens at full speed. Very large remote files refuse to open locally; open them on the host device.
